Leo Large is an international DJ, producer and sync strategist whose music lives at the crossroads of continents. With roots that connect North and South, he has built a reputation for blending Hip Hop, Gqom, Amapiano, Afrobeats, Afrohouse and Kwaito into a sound that defies categories yet always captivates.
His journey began in Hamburg’s Boogie Park Studios at just 15, where he honed his craft under some of Germany’s most respected Hip Hop producers at the time. After moving to Cape Town, he quickly caught the attention of South Africa’s hip hop elite via Myspace, subsequently producing for Slikour, Skwatta Kamp, ProVerb, ProKid, JR and more, while performing at events like Pop Bottles, MTV Base Parties, UCT Big Bash and Rock The Boat.
Since returning to Germany in 2014, Leo has expanded his focus to vocal and instrumental catalogs for film, TV, advertising and gaming. His music has been synced on Netflix’s Jiva! Season 1, Young, Famous & African, Real Housewives of Durban and Forever Young, as well as ESPN, VH1, Red Bull, Pro7, MTN and the Showmax promo for Tyla’s livestream. Over the years, Leo Large has built up a substantial catalog of tracks across leading sync publishers including Universal Music, Felt PM, BMG and Warner Chappell, ensuring his productions are widely available for placements.
Recent highlights include producing Wakhohlwa with Noxy, featured on Spotify’s Afro House Pulse, and Siren with DJ Dozza, released exclusively through Warner Chappell, which has already surpassed 45,000 views on YouTube. With Siren and his broader catalog available for easy sync and game licensing, Leo Large continues to shape African electronic music for the global stage, building tracks that move the dancefloor and translate seamlessly onto screens worldwide.
